In the winter
of 2008, a group of Art Alliance Austin
volunteers and Eastside Cafe designed a comprehensive
recycling program for the Art City Austin
art festival held downtown each April. Contemplating
the inevitable accumulating of another mountain
of waste (most of it recyclable and compostable)
and determined to keep it from the land fill
this time, we created the Eastside Cafe Recycling
Challenge, a sponsored recycling team competition. It
was a phenomenal success. If any part
