What a fantastic concept: A restaurant that grows its own vegetables right in its own backyard and then serves them to you for dinner. Well not only dinner actually, there's also lunch and brunch. Fourteen years ago, Elaine Martin and Dorsey Barger were intrigued with the idea of combining very serious gardening with a restaurant concept to cook the freshest vegetables available. Customers could even walk through the garden and see all that was growing there before settling in for a great meal. That's how the Eastside Café was born.

Eastside Café sits on an acre of land, surrounded by dozens of pecan trees. You'll be seated either in a charming Austin 1920's bungalow style house still broken up into the original rooms. Or in our open, airy garden room.

Behind the Restaurant sits the incredible 1/3 acre vegetable and herb garden. Since we can't possibly grow all of the vegetables we serve at the Eastside Café, we use all of our homegrown produce in the fantastic soups and chalkboard specials that we feature each day.

The setting is cozy, comfortable...homey. The food is fresh, eclectic, and exciting.
